Functions: Tonifies Qi, Nourishes Yin, Subdues Deficiency Fire, Generates Body Fluids, Relieves Thirst

Indications: Lung and Kidney deficiency presenting with exhaustion, chronic dry cough, wheezing, scanty sputum, blood streaked sputum, loss of voice. Lung dryness from chronic respiratory irritation, as in smokers or from other respiratory irritants that dry and damage the Lung fluids. Qi and Jin Ye (body fluid) deficiency with irritability, fatigue, thirst, dry throat, mouth and tongue, post-febrile or post-surgical convalescence. May be useful in alleviating the side effects of radiation therapy, especially dryness and damage to mucous membranes, oral ulceration, decreased salivation and fatigue.
